    Bestmed Tour of Good Hope

    The 2016 Bestmed Tour of Good Hope took place from the 29th February to the 4th of March over 5 stages. Presented in the week leading up to the Cape Town Cycle Tour and based in the Paarl/Franschhoek valley, the event encompasses five days of clover leaf racing through the Cape Winelands over a total distance of 522km and 6168m vertical ascent.     Race Report – National MTB Series #Sabie

    The 2016 Ashburton Investments National Marathon Series, Sabie was held on Saturday 20 February 2016. A second Ultra Marathon in as many weeks for Team NAD. Sabie, only a short drive from Nelspruit is a local favourite on the race calendar for Nico and Gawie. The altitude and terrain suit the riders and it means that there is virtually no travelling involved.  With the 2016 Absa Cape Epic around the corner, a big international contingent lined up on the start line.     Race Report – Du Toit Tankwa Trek

    In preparation for the Absa Cape Epic, Team NAD traveled from Nelspruit, Mpumalanga to the Tankwa Karoo for the 2016 edition of the Tankwa Trek. A 3 day stage race set in the Western Cape. A second visit to the province in as many weeks. Team mechanic, Nohan drove from Nelspruit in the Westvaal VW Bus with all equipment while the riders took the option to fly and save time on travelling. Stage 1 of Tankwa Trek consisted of 89km with 1900meters of vertical ascent. The route took riders through the Witzenberg valley via an old ox wagon trail leading into jeep and single track.     National MTB Series Meerendal – Race report

    After a successful start to the 2016 season, it was time to change from the road bikes to the mountain bikes. Team NAD headed to Cape Town for round one of the Ashburton Investments National MTB Series hosted by Meerendal Wines.     Team NAD impress at Mpumalanga Tour

    Nico Bell and Gawie Combrinck impress at Mpumalanga Tour.  The Mpumalanga Tour,  the only 6 six day road cycle challenge in South Africa took place from 18 to 23 January 2016,. The 6 stages cover a total distance of 752 km from Loskopdam to Badplaas, Mbombela, Graskop and Blyde River Canyon and featured all top South African Roady Cycling teams. Cyclists faced a total ascent of 11 500m, with Robbers Pass and Kowyn’s Pass as the most famous and gruelling mountain climbs.     Nico Bell and Gawie Combrinck Team up to form New Africa Developments (NAD) Pro MTB team for  2016 and beyond.   2016 will see Bell (2013-2014 Nissan Series Champion) and Combrinck (2015 South African Marathon Champion) focus on Marathon racing with their main goal being to win the 2016 Absa Cape Epic African Leaders Jersey title.
